Why does my schedule 19, motor vehicle expenses not pull through to my tax return. I have the vehicle allowance on the right hand side of my tax return, but not expenses to the left side to deduct on schedule 3.

The main reason for this is that you did not enter the kilometres in the correct space. So if you only had employment income, the kilometre for employments should be entered in the respective question. Most of the time people enter the kilometers for business purposes, but this is only used where you earned additional income outside of employment from an extra business you run. Go back to your questions and make sure where you entered the kilometers. Also please note kilometers have to be entered for the schedule to calculate and expense.
