Inland Revenue has no specific timeline for assessments, for individuals it can take from 12 to 18 months to assess. Normally they will send an sms once the tax return was assessed. And the refund process will start after the assessment. Refunds are done electronically now, so refunds are paid directly into your bank account. Its important to ensure that Inland Revenue has your correct banking details. Please verify that the refund you receive is the correct amount, as this could have adverse effects.
